Fulfilment starts with the Shaktar/Wraithen PDF

Hi everyone

As the title says we are sending the  SLA Industries Species Guide 1: Shaktar/Wraithen PDF to you:

Please note this will take a while: allow 48 hrs for all to hit.

You will be getting emails from DriveThruRPG, to the email addresses you have supplied via Backerkit. If you do not have a DriveThruRPG account you will need to set one up.

You may not be entitled to all documents depending on what you pledged for, please check your pledge before contacting us.

Any issues please email [email protected], but be aware he (and all of us) are at UK Games Expo this weekend. BUT please do check your spam folder and refresh your Drivethru library before you do.

We are also sending out the Core Rulebook PDFs to those entitled to them.

Proof Version of 'Species Guide 1: Shaktar/Wraithen'

Hi Everyone

We have just sent those of you getting the PDF version of the 'Species Guide 1: Shaktar/Wraithen' book a Mail Chimp email with a link to the Proof.

We are on a tight schedule for this one so if you want to get involved in the proofreading, download it and give us your observations by emailing [email protected] before the end of Sunday 12th June 2022.

Notes for proofing:

• This product is written in English (not American English)
• We ARE looking for typos, formating and grammatical errors
• We ARE NOT looking for rules suggestions or fluff comments
• To let us know any proofing observations (typos, formatting issues etc.) please email: [email protected] (yes that is correct- no .com or .co.uk at the end)
• Ideally please supply in the following format: Page XX, Column L/R, Paragraph X, Line X: Observation

PLEASE DO NOT SHARE THIS ALPHA VERSION WITH ANYONE...it's not final version and you paid for it...they should too.

What to do if you haven't got the Mailchimp message:

1. Check your Spam folder.

2. Leave it 24 hrs - its a lot of emails to go out

3. Check you pledge for the PDF version of this product. If you haven't it won't have been sent to you.

4. Check you have completed your pledge on Backerkit. If you haven't it won't have been sent to you

5. If you are due it and it isn't in your inbox/spamfolder after 24hrs: COMMENT BELOW.

Release Plan

Once we have implemented your observations we will be adding the final PDF to DriveThru to fulfil this part of your pledge and then be selling the PDF there. The book will be printed alongside the rest of the books being printed for this KS and shipped out to you as soon as possible.

Once we have the other Alpha PDFs ready they will be shared in the same way.

Shaktar/Wraithen

Today Mark finished initial layout of the Shaktar/Wraithen book ready for Dave and Jared to finalise it over the next couple of days. After another round of proofing, we plan to release the Alpha version to those backers due the PDF version of that book. We expect this to happen before the end of next week and hopefully sooner.

Whilst Dave and Jared do this, Mark, Jamie and Benn continue on the COLLATERAL book. It is fair to say we will not get that to you before UK Games Expo, but a very large chunk will be done (see below).

Art wise we now have all commissioned art completed and obviously all of the Shaktar/Wraithen art is done. 

All other items are now in stock and ready for fulfilment.

Status

Over the last couple of weeks Mark has been laying out Wraithen. This marks a move for us where we layout before much of the art is commissioned, meaning we art commissioning to fill the spaces naturally. 40 pages of layout are now through initial stage, Mark is now working on Data Files 1 layout starting with the NPCs and the Cookbook portion. Once they are done the first few chapters of the COLLATERAL book will also enter initial layout.

Additionally the Dice trays have been commissioned and Dave is still writing and arting hard. Things are looking good.

Alpha versions planned for UK Games Expo

Hi Everyone.

Over the last week NFG have got together in a rather pleasant pub in Scotland to plan out our future.

As far as this project is concerned we have set ourselves the target of getting the books sent to you in ALPHA PDF form at the same time as UK Games Expo - the first weekend of June.

ALPHA PDF?

What is the Alpha PDF? well quite simply this is the proof ready version of the book, which we like to share with the backers a couple of weeks before the books are sent for print. We do this for two reasons. 1., to give those of you that want to (and who have pledged for the PDF versions), to get a early look at the products and 2. to give those of you that want to to get in on the proofreading.

Being a small team, it is always very useful to get as many eyes as possible on the books, reading and rereading one's writing doesn't catch issues as well as fresh eyes can.

Progress

As you can see there is a lot of green, meaning we are well over half way on everything. 

I should point out here that technically the art position is even better than it looks here as many of the incomplete art pieces are in drawn (a significant part of the time needed).

We will be placing the dice tray order next week and at least some of the text will be laid out in the same timeframe.

Obviously we are a little over our April timeline, but given we unlocked a lot more than we expected, I hope noone is too annoyed by it.

Nightfall Games at Shows

We have plans to attend a number of shows this year, including:

• Devacon - 9th April (represented here by Brittannia Games)
• UK Games Expo - 3rd to 5th June
• Chillcon - 20th August
• TT Scotland - 27th & 28th August

We are likely to attend other shows too, or be represented by friends. We are also hoping to soon attend shows further afield, but at present we think this is a year off.

Other Games

The StokerVerse Roleplaying Game is being project led by Benn Graybeaton, our rules lead. We have just published the 'pay what you want' Quickstart on DrivethruRPG.

The Terminator RPG is in the very final stages of pre-production with the ALPHA versions set for release imminently. The 'pay what you want' Quickstart on DrivethruRPG.

Other projects are also in the pipeline including Demon Dog and Harrowvale 5e...more announcements to come.

Cannibal Sector One

As we continue to progress further into 2nd Edition, we will continue to clear the decks of older material. Cannibal Sector One will no longer be available on DriveThruRPG as a PDF as of 1st May. If you want it you can get it here, we have a few hard copies left (email [email protected] if you want to add it to your pledge alongside its 2nd ed conversion PDF doc). Although the PDF will be removed from sale it will still be available in your DriveThruRPG library. 

More SLA after COLLATERAL

We are planning on our next SLA Industries kickstarter in the second half of 2022.
